3D Printing

Printer

I currently own a M3D Micro, a somewhat small prebuilt printer which I got late 2016. I have printed aprrox 4kg's worth of filament. Keep in mind there are failed prints and such.

The two spools you see are both 1kg filament spools. Though it might be hard to see, the spools themselves are actually hanging on 3D printed holders designed for this printer. They clip onto the shape of the body and will easily hold over 1kg.

Some Prints worth Mentioning

Probably my most used print to date, and one of my first real prints. An iphone holder that doubles as a charging dock. This was printed shortly after christmas in a black PLA. It has lasted plenty of abuse. I recently hot glued it to my desk so I could pick up the phone with one hand, as previously the charger connection would pick up the dock with the iphone still attached.

My second most used Print, a Leatherman Wave Holster, as someone who works on lots of little things while tinkering this multitool has been amazing, enough of the sales pitch though. The cheap leather hold that it comes in requires fumbling to retrieve the tool from the users hip. Hence why this holder was printed. It locks the multitool in, you can invert it and the one pound multitool will stay in place. I have broken this print twice actually and repaired it both times. It breaks at the belt, usually I clip it off something, and the belt clip stays on my belt while the body and my tool fall to the ground. (May reprint using a carbon based filament)

This print would be my longest running print, five different print models, and nine models mocked up for it, my capstone 3D Printed Self Driving Car. Every component able to be printed was, which in this case was the body (two piece) and the four wheels. Also no the wheel below is not photoshopped into a with background. That is actualy my desk under some better than usual lighting conditions.
